O que é a ISO?

Provavelmente, a norma ISO mais conhecida é a A ISO 9000, que é uma norma técnica internacional que estabelece um padrão de gestão da qualidade para organizações, empresas e indústrias.
ISO 21500 – Gestão de projetos
A ISO 21500 é uma norma especificamente criada para a gestão de projetos. Ela oferece diretrizes que podem ser aplicadas a qualquer tipo de projeto, independentemente do tamanho, tipo ou complexidade.
No Brasil, a ABNT publicou a ABNT NBR ISO 21500 – Gerenciamento de projeto, programa e portfólio – Contexto e conceitos, que é um tradução e adaptação para o português da norma original ISO 21500.
A norma tem como objetivo facilitar a coordenação entre projetos e operações organizacionais, aprimorando o planejamento, a execução e o controle de projetos.
A norma ISO 21500 é dividida em várias seções que cobrem os principais conceitos e processos de gestão de projetos, incluindo:
- Termos e definições: Clarifica a terminologia usada na gestão de projetos.
- Implementação estratégica: Como a gestão de projetos se alinha aos objetivos estratégicos da organização.
- Conceitos importantes: Gestão de projetos, programas e portfólio.
Qual o relacionamento da ISO 21500 com o PMBOK?
O PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge), é uma norma para gestão de projetos desenvolvido pelo Project Management Institute (PMI).
A ISO 21500 e o PMBOK compartilham muitos princípios de gestão de projetos, mas a ISO 21500 serve como uma norma internacional que proporciona uma estrutura de referência que pode ser usada em qualquer organização mundialmente e pouco detalhada. Enquanto o PMBOK é mais prescritivo e detalhado, e foca mais no desenvolvimento do profissional gerente de projetos do que na organização como um todo.
Inclusive, o PMI possui certificação para profissionais que dominam o PMBOK, mas não certifica empresas que seguem o PMBOK. A ISO, embora tenha muitas certificações empresariais, não possui nenhuma certificação ligada a ISO 21500.
Podemos dizer que ISO 21500 e PMBOK são produtos concorrentes de fabricantes diferentes, com um objetivo comum mas com muitas diferenças.
Avaliar quem é melhor ou pior é uma discussão que não abordaremos nesse momento.
Independente isso, a implementação do PMBOK ou da ISO 21500 pode beneficiar as organizações com práticas que fornecem uma base sólida para como conduzir os projetos, promovendo uma gestão mais eficaz e uma maior taxa de sucesso. Ao adotar essas práticas, a organização estará alinhada com padrões internacionais, garantindo uma vantagem competitiva no mercado global.
Atualmente, o PMBOK é a norma de gestão de projetos da ANSI (American National Standards Institute), denominado ANSI/PMI 99-001.
